Bidoun Library at the Serpentine Gallery, London

This summer, the
Bidoun Library
will be in residence at the
Serpentine Gallery
in London from the 12th of July to the 17th of September. The library in residence features a program of exhibitions, talks, screenings and an Egyptian shaabi wedding/dance party. Founded in 2009, the Bidoun Library is a peripatetic collection of books, periodicals and ephemera developed by Bidoun Projects, a not-for-profit publishing, curatorial and educational initiative dedicated to supporting contemporary culture from the Middle East.
This Bidoun Library’s residence in London is organised in association with Shubbak, a window on Arab culture initiated by the Mayor of London. www.london.gov.uk/shubbak/
Bidoun # 25, built around the revolution of January 25th in Egypt, will also be launched during Bidoun's residency at the Serpentine.
During July and August, Bidoun will host a series of events bringing together leading writers and artists.

Former Edgware Road Project artist-in-residence Rania Stephan returns to present the UK premiere of her film The Three Disappearances of Suad Hosni (2011), which recently won the Sharjah Biennial Prize. The film’s non-fiction narrative reflects on the life and death of Egyptian actress Suad Hosni, who committed suicide while living on Edgware Road in 2001.

Incontro internazionale sulla mobilità giovanile nel Mediterraneo, tra sfide e nuove proposte
Dal primo al 4 ottobre a Reggio Calabria si è tenuto l’incontro di MOB In MED!, la campagna di sensibilizzazione sulla mobilità giovanile nel Mediterraneo che ha coinvolto 19 attiviste e attivisti della regione e alcune figure chiave del territorio impegnate su questa tematica.

MOB IN MED! a Reggio Calabria
Dal 1° al 4 ottobre il capoluogo calabrese ospiterà l’incontro Mob in Med!, la campagna di sensibilizzazione sulle barriere alla mobilità giovanile promossa da Réseau Euromed France (REF) e Jeunesses Med in collaborazione con Mana Chuma Teatro, nell’ambito del progetto Erasmus+.
