International Video Art and Performances Festival in Palestine

The A.M. Qattan Foundation (Ramallah) together with Instants Vidéo Numériques et Poétiques (Marseille) and other partners like the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Centre, Al Mahatta Gallery, Palestinian Art Court-Al Hoash, Birzeit University, the Centre Culturel Français and the Goethe Institut are organising the 2nd Edition of the International Video Art and Performances Festival in Palestine . The Festival will take place in various cities including Ramallah, Jerusalem, Birzeit, Nablus, Bethlehem and Gaza from the 6th to the 12th of June 2011 .

Every two years, this cultural event features local and international creativity in the field of video art and multimedia. It is also a place for encounters, dialogues, experiments and training.
This year’s edition will present:
-8 programmes chosen by Instant Vidéo, a Croatian one presented by Toni Mestrovic, a Canadian one by Paul Lee, a programme from Kirghiztan by Shaarbek Amankul, a Belgian one presented by Guido’Lu, a Syrian one chosen by Abir Boukhari, an Egyptian and a Moroccan one and a selection of Palestinian works;
-A video installation exhibition by Dominik Barbier, Toni Mestrovic, Mariana Vassileva, Flavie Pinatel, Bashar Hroub, Mohanad Yaqubi, Basma al-sharif, Tashweesh, Shadi Habiballah;
-Performances by Esther Ferrer (Spain) Rochus Aust avec Fosco Perinti, Florian Zwissler, Heinz Friedl (Germany), Dirar Kalash (Palestine), Rana Bshara (Palestine), Juliana Irene Smith;
-Conferences given by Shaarbek Amankul, Marc Mercier, Esther Ferrer, Guido'Lu, Christophe Blaze, Dominik Barbier;
-A workshop animated by the French artist François Lejault.
