The 11th International Istanbul BiennialOrganised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, the the 11th International İstanbul Biennial turns the city of Istanbul into a platform for contemporary art between the 11th September and the 8th November. Its title “What Keeps Mankind Alive?” has been taken from the 1928 play Threepenny Opera , written by Brecht.
The opening ceremony was held in Antrepo No.3 on September the 11th. The Biennial, featuring more than 140 projects from 70 artists, including audio and video installations, photography, sculpture and painting, a training programme for art teachers and educational workshops for children will take place in various venues in Istanbul: the Antrepo No.3, the Tobacco Warehouse and the Feriköy Greek School.
