Despite the difficulties caused by the economic crisis and the many prejudices still widespread, in Spain a high level of integration is achieved thanks to employment projects with few and isolated cases of housing problems. The persistent problem is the school drop-outs: the rate among the Gitane pupils is nearly 5 times higher than the general population.

Comunità gitane in Spagna, la scommessa degli “chavales”
Malgrado le difficoltà dovute alla crisi economica e ai molti pregiudizi ancora diffusi, nel Paese si registra un elevato livello di integrazione con progetti di inserimento lavorativo e pochi e isolati casi di disagio abitativo. Punto dolente è ancora l’abbandono scolastico: tra gli alunni gitani dopo i 12 anni è di quasi 5 volte superiore rispetto al resto della popolazione.
