Ayam Beirut Al Cinema’iya Festival

Ayam Beirut Al Cinema’iya is a non-competitive film festival for independent cinema and video productions from the Arab world organised by Beirut DC.
Beirut DC was founded in Beirut, Lebanon in 1999 by a group of cinema professionals and art advocates. The organization began its projects towards the end of 1999. The aim of Beirut DC is to support Arab independent filmmakers.

The festival’s 6th Edition will take place between the 15th and the 22nd September 2010 in Beirut, Lebanon.
The festival has opened its call for films. The official selection of this 6th Edition is open to films made by Arab filmmakers, produced after October 2008.
In this years’ festival, a special section will be dedicated to non Arab films with an outlook on the Arab world by non-Arab filmmakers, produced after October 2008.
Categories: feature and short fictions, documentaries, and experimental works.
Original format could be in cinema (8mm, 16mm,35mm) or in video (Betacam, DV or HD).
Screening copies must be in 35mm for cinema format or Betacam SP or Digital (PAL), DVcam PAL or HDV PAL for video format. Copies should have English subtitles.
Priority is reserved to films that have not yet been screened in Lebanon.
The DEADLINE to submit DVDs and applications is the 10th of June, 2010.
The final selection will be closed on July the 10th and filmmakers will be informed of the results by email on July 15th 2010.
