The stolen library: Syrian artists poetically archive Arab publishing | Babelmed
The stolen library: Syrian artists poetically archive Arab publishing “When the Library was Stolen” is the first iteration of “Series of Disappearances”, a project by the collective Fehras, created by three Syrian artists now living in Berlin, Kenan Darwich, Omar Nicolas and Sami Rustom. The project was inspired by the story of the recently raided library of renowned Saudi-Iraqi author Abdel Rahman Mounif (1933-2004) and will examine the relocation of knowledge in and out of the MENA region due to various economic, political and social changes.
